A Deep Dive into Pho: Why It’s Different at Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc

What truly sets Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc apart from other pho places is their unique take on the classic Vietnamese noodle soup. Pho is typically known for its flavorful broth, tender meats, and fragrant herbs, but Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc adds its own spin. The pho here is especially known for its beef, which is seared in a wok before being added to the broth. This technique brings out a rich, smoky flavor that makes Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc’s pho stand out. The broth is also meticulously prepared, simmered for hours to extract the deepest flavors from the bones and spices.

The broth itself is clear, aromatic, and balanced—neither too salty nor too bland. It's a harmonious combination of beef bones, herbs, and spices, which results in a light yet rich flavor profile. The noodles are delicate and soft, offering a pleasant texture that complements the tender slices of beef, making every bite a satisfying experience.

More Than Just Pho: A Complete Vietnamese Dining Experience

While Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc is undoubtedly renowned for its pho, their menu features a variety of other mouth-watering Vietnamese dishes that you won't want to miss. From Bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwiches) to Gỏi cuốn (spring rolls), every dish is prepared with the same level of care and attention to detail.

Their Bánh mì sandwiches are a local favorite, packed with flavorful meats, fresh vegetables, and savory sauces, all nestled in a crispy baguette. Meanwhile, the Gỏi cuốn (Vietnamese spring rolls) are a perfect appetizer, filled with fresh ingredients like shrimp, lettuce, and vermicelli noodles, all wrapped in delicate rice paper and served with a tangy peanut sauce.

If you’re looking for something heartier, Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc also offers Cơm tấm (broken rice) and Bún chả (grilled pork with noodles), which are both satisfying options for those wanting a more substantial meal. Each dish is a reflection of the diverse and vibrant Vietnamese culinary heritage.

The Pho Thin Experience: Perfect for Any Occasion

Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion with friends and family, Pho Thin 13 Lo Duc offers a perfect setting. The friendly staff, efficient service, and excellent food make it a great spot for both casual diners and foodies who appreciate authentic flavors.

Meat little chewy, broth is good but there was not enough depth in the flavor.. will try again next time. Place is clean and service is nice and fast.

Finally a reliable place for Northern-style Pho. According to my Vietnamese dad, #4 and #6 are the two most traditional, so he recommends ordering those. Each bowl was delicious and hit the spot! It had a rich yet clean broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and a generous amount of meat. The Vietnamese coffee was good too--dark, strong, and sweetened with condensed milk. The inside of the restaurant is very nice, featuring large tables and elegant chairs. It is clean, brightly lit, and highly AC'ed, which feels great as you are gulping down hot broth and noodles. Service was quick despite the lunch rush. I still prefer Southern style, but this will definitely be in my Pho-craving rotation (:

my absolute favorite pho place because they are CONSISTENT. popular spots like holic 85 76 have gone down in quality in terms of their broth and the meat that they use for filet mignon. pho thin has never failed me, they use actual filet mignon meat and they put alot of it too. my mom loves their pho tai lan truyen thong, which i honestly still dont know what it is but i think it is cooked a bit or something? i tried it once but i didnt like it because its strong of like garlic or soemthing, but if you like that then get it. i love their filet mignon personally. i think they only have fat pho noodles here, not small ones. it is so soft and easy to eat. their broth is simple and no overpowering. because it is northern style not southern. service here is like whatever its just viet dudes. something to note tho is that they use these wood STICKS as chopsticks but very rustic vintage old feel ig. oh and their spoons are like shallow which i actually rly like. the only have paper straws... and their green onions are cut BIG which my mom absolutely lovess. overall great place i love

JUST THE MOST EXCEPTIONAL PHO EVER Let me tell you, I'm Vietnamese born and raise but I've never liked Pho that much compare to other dishes. For 4 years living in San Jose, I've never liked any pho places. My boyfriend is the biggest pho lover and he's PICKY, but he LOVED THIS PLACE. From the fresh Vietnamese flat rice noodles just like in Vietnam to the rich meaty broth combine with tender beef shank, this is a GEM And you know what, they have the pickled garlic, WHICH I COULD NOT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE! I told you, run don't walk!!!

Yummy northern "bac" style broth woth plenty of green scallions. Delicious broth, though, i did add a bit more fish sauce to my bowl. Bonus: their is air conditioning on which was very welcomed in this heat! Bonus: they accept card payments Con: i wished they gave the option to pick the "thin" noodles which is chewy. The "fresh" noodles. Aka banh pho tuoi, is too soft/mushy, in my opinion
